Media Molecule are in desperate need of a Production Server Developer and a Network Programmer. If you think you can help them out, head over here now!
Now we’re all settled in our new digs, we need to finish making a video game. In order to do so though, we are missing two vital Molecules, a Network Programmer and a Production Server Developer.
We really, really, really need you. Let’s not beat about the bush here: we’re pretty desperate.
If you are one of these awesome types of people, you should seriously consider joining us at Mm Towers, and becoming a Molecule, here’s just a small selection of the reasons why!
You’ll be an integral part of a small team with a family vibe.
Our new studio is really awesome and there’s a desk here with your name on it. Oh you don’t like that one? That’s fine we can move it somewhere else, it’s all good!
We have a tip top benefits package that is bound to make your life better in oh so many ways
We already love you to bits, and all want to be your friend
The freezer is full of ice creams, your favourite ones

NOTE: This also contains some info from our visit to MM.
Well Dan n I can finally mention some of the things we saw on LBP 2. To be safe I’m only mentioning stuff I’ve seen in the released trailer (found here): LINK
Ok so here is the list I compiled on skype while flicking through the trailer as I did for water and this is what i have found (I’ll leave out the times because some clips are only visible for a few secs and also I cba):
Animated sackboy costumes (beaker-thingy costume had animated bubbley skin)
Animated materials (Water effect material shown multiple times)
Animated backgrounds (Spaff assures me no framerate drop but has testified they haven’t used the bomb survival test)
Hearted list appears to be replaced by a star icon on the popit
Many new materials of course including new colours of neon (white, pink, purple I saw)
More decorations that react to their movement (I saw some eyes jiggle up and down as a robot took steps)
Either backgrounds specifically for small levels (I saw a minigame with two arcade machines either side with animated screens, too small an area for a normal level so its either been specifically made for small levels or is a custom one; probably the former)
Awesome cloud effect (when an enemy died a black cloud rose up and seemed to actually react to things it hit, very impressive if true, was also reused for enemy brains dying)
There are tubes that suck up robots and transport them around (while in the tubes the robots float and so are probably unable to do any actions)
Lots of new backgrounds (a carwash, a workshop, a mountainy one with some white towers and many more I’m sure)
A material that disappears without smoke (our dissolve material let out some smoke and made a noise, this new material or possibly a new way to dissolve any material seems to bypass the smoke at least).
There was a glass like material that had text appear on it (possibly just a trick but here’s hoping for writable screens)
No more Info moon
Customizable moons (Techno, wooden, red the list goes on)
Return of PCS counters (They wouldn’t put them in unless they worked this time surely :p)
Extra things that I posted on LBPC:
“Gonna be careful just to talk about stuff in this trailer
The camera certainly is better in LBP 2, I didn’t get a hands on but Johnee pulled off some pretty cool illusions and mock 3d with the sackboy walking to the left and appearing to be walking backwards without the little hops you normally get between layers. He also made some really sweet gravity tricks where the sackboy would keep walking along a platform and when he hit a wall he would start walking up it. The more advanced creators shouldn’t have to touch the 3d layer glitch anymore if they can be crafty with their cutscenes.
The singleplayer is going to be alot better than before. Now MM know people can be creative expect to see more of a story and a higher grade of levels.
Direct control is exactly like the seats you get on GMod for those who are familiar with that game. Slap it on a surface and a circuit board appears allowing you to link up button inputs to pistons etc. We saw a cool frog hopper that had been made which is obviously the focus for the style of its usage (vehicle controls) however imagine putting it on a completely hidden screen and using it for RTS controls, Greed Corp (PSN game) could definitely be made using this tool.
The AI we didn’t see at all apart from a trailer we were shown. I did ask Tom about this (therefore any inaccuracies are on his head) and apparently you can act out with your sackboy what to do and the AI will copy or go for the old menu option. You can dress them up in your clothes (so all that DLC clothes annoyance will turn out to be a great boon in LBP2).
So at least I can vent some of my excitement; I’ll wait for future trailers and see what else I can talk about in the future.
Trust me this game is going to be amazing ”
When trying to appeal to that special someone or simply wanting to make yourself more professional for those potential hearters these new scents will be perfect for your sackboy!
Also jump_button did his own LBP trick posted on LBPC and LBW, LBPC saw through the facade but the residents on LBW didn’t quite catch on .
Here is a quick video showing the sackboy animations (thanks sposim94!):
Thats right folks. As some of you may have heard in our latest podcast, episode 13, our most popular episode yet (don’t ask me why) we have been invited to go and see the office where it all takes place, Media Molecule HQ! Shermzor, as well as my sister and I are all attending. We will be meeting Tom and Spaff and they will be taking us round for a tour to meet some molecules and then out for some lunch.
We’ll be sure to take lots of pictures with the team and post them up on the blog when we get back – and maybe even some footage of us!
We’re leaving soon though, so I must get ready.
UPDATE:
The trip was brilliant. Listen to the next podcast for the aftermath! Meanwhile, you can check out some pictures we took in our gallery:

StevenI, from LBPC and other LBP fan forums, spotted something on the Asian Sony site.
According to the website, the release date is the 17th of December. Could this be an early christmas present for us LBP’ers!?
Looks like there is also some other inside-information on this site, such as an Uncharted DLC pack and lots of other goodies.
StevenI said:
As you can see, there will be five costumes available.
Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Werehog
Tails the Fox
Knuckles the Echidna
Dr. Robotnik
The costumes can either be bought as a set or individually.
Sony Asia lists the release date as the 17th of December.
